The Lagos State Examination Board has urged schools with Special Candidates to inform the body regarding Year 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and Placement Test by Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS).

According to the statement on Tuesday signed by the Director of Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr Orunsolu Adebayo, the information will help to facilitate adequate preparations for such candidates during the examination.

“We have special candidates of Visual Challenges and Albinos, it is on that not that we are urging schools with such students to write us a separate letter about them early for necessary arrangement,” it said.

The statement disclosed that the Lagos State Government had introduced online payment and registration for Year 2023 BECE and CAS as part of efforts to ensure seamless, stress free payments.

It added that the process would create an enabling environment for public and private schools across to access Government services in the State.

“We are hereby informing the general public, private schools across the State that the mode of payment and registration for year 2023 BECE and CAS will be online processes.

“This is in line with the Lagos State Government policy at ensuring seamless and stress free payment and access to Government services in the State,” he said.

The director stated that the process would be available through a self-service platform, adding that owners of schools would not be required to come physically to the Examination Board for either payment or registration.

Orunsolu disclosed that the process would afford schools opportunity to create Login Account to generate their Unique Identity Number (ID) and Personalised Identification Number (PIN) by using the Link: https://examsboard.lagos.gov.ng

He urged the schools to, while entering their candidates for the examinations, adhere strictly to the guidelines and procedures for the payment and registration as stated on the portal.

“Schools are advised to login to https://examsboard.lagosstate.gov.ng to access Lagos State Examinations Board’s Portal.

“Then explore new stress free payment and registration process by clicking on the type of examination the school is paying or registering for,” he stated.
He disclosed that the registration for the examination had commenced and that late registration would attract additional penalty.

He also noted that only pupils in Primary 6 in Public and Private Schools were eligible for the placement test.
“Primary Six Pupils are eligible to sit for Placement Test by CAS to be placed in government public Junior Secondary Schools.

“Also, as part of transparency and credibility in the board, only duly registered JSS3 students aspiring to progress to SS1 will endorsed and allowed to sit for BECE,” he added.

He noted that Schools with Special Candidates of Visual Challenges/ Albinos should inform the Lagos State Examinations Board in a separate letter to facilitate adequate preparations for such candidates during the examination.

He added that the circulars that contained detailed information about the mode of Payment and Registration for the two examinations would be availed to schools through their Led and Zonal Officers.
