An Upper Area Court in Gwagwalada, FCT, on Wednesday struck out a cheating charge against a carpenter, Daniel Oliver, accused of absconding with a motorcycle worth N160,000 belonging to a businessman.

The defendant, who resides in Kuje, FCT, is charged with criminal breach of trust and cheating on Jan.24.

He pleaded not guilt.

The Judge, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkarim, struck out the charge following an oral application by the Prosecution Counsel Abdullahi Tanko that the nominal complainant was not serious with the matter.

Abdulkarim consequently struck out the case and discharged the defendant of the alleged charge.

Earlier, Tanko told the court that the matter was reported at the police station by Mr Sani Shuaibu of Kango village Kuje Abuja, on Jan. 20.

He said that Shuaibu entrusted his Bajaj motorcycle worth N160,000 to the defendant for commercial purpose.

He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
