Court remands Man for pleading guilty to stealing
A Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, on Wednesday ordered the remand of a 22-year-old man, Kazeem Jimoh, in a correctional center after pleading guilty to stealing property valued N527,000.
Jimoh, whose address is unknown, pleaded guilty to the charge of breaking and entering into a motor spare part dealer’s shop and stealing property valued N527,000.
The Chief Magistrate, Fadahunsi Adefioye ordered that Jimoh be remanded in the Awhajigoh correctional centre, Badagry, for reading of fact and sentencing.
Adefioye adjourned the case until April 25.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, ASP Clement Okuoimose said the defendant unlawfully broke and entered into Unic All Motor Spare Part dealer’s shop at Pako, Era, Ijanikin area of Lagos.
Okuoimose said Jimoh stole one Ford Bus Top Cylinder and some iron rods valued N527,000 property of Nnamdi Nwogu, the complainant.
He said offences contravened Sections 309 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
