Sule receives Certificate of Return, promises to run inclusive govt
Gov Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has received the Certificate of Return from Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after winning the March 18, Governoship Election in the state.
Sule said he had the capacity and capability and ready to lead from the front, to do his utmost best to embrace every citizen of the state in governance.
Gov Sule stated this in his acceptance speech on Wednesday in Lafia, after receiving the certificate from INEC.
The governor expressed gratitude to the people of the state, campaign council, party’s critical stakeholders, saying that his victory was made possible by their support.
“I wish to thank you again for this renewed mandate, I do not take it for granted, I see it as a personal challenge for more work towards the Nasarawa State of our dreams.
“I stand before you today with a heart full of joy for many reasons; one of which is that, in this hall I see Muslims, I see Christians, I see people of different tribes and persuasions. Here I see my vision of a united people bonded by a common destiny.
“Thank you to some of the political parties who collapsed their structures and lent their support; with all humility, I dedicate this victory to the people of Nasarawa State and to the glory of Almighty Allah,” he said.
He called on all citizens of the state to support his administration, noting that he believed very strongly that all had roles to play in creating the kind of Nasarawa they desired.
“For us, the elections have come and gone, we believe strongly that we are all winners and Nasarawa is the better for it, therefore it is time to drop the animosity and time to do away with divisive rhetoric,” he said.
Gov Sule, however, warned that government shall not hesitate to do whatever necessary within the provision of the laws to take on any person or group of persons working to truncate the peace in the state.
“We shall expose and go after anyone who seeks to sacrifice the peace and brotherliness we enjoy in Nasarawa State for their selfish interests,” he warned.
