10th NASS: Sanni Jaji remains best option for Speakership – IPAC

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), South-West, says Mr Aminu Sani-Jaji (APC-Zamfara), is the most qualified for the Speakership position of the House of Representatives in the 10th assembly.

Sani-Jaji represents Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency of Zamfara.

Mr Wale Adebayo, Zonal Chairman of IPAC, said this on Friday in a statement made available to newsmen in Akure.

Adebayo said the choice of Sani-Jaji was borne out of his professional skills, areas of expertise, personal qualities, and his performance as a lawmaker.

He further stated that without any doubt, Sani-Jaji is a brilliant lawmaker who had carved a niche for himself as a team player.

“He has performed creditably well as a lawmaker through effective representation of his constituents.

“He is such a passionate and consummate team leader who has, on several occasions, demonstrated his grasp of issues related to sustainable growth and development,” Adebayo said.

He said that as a firm believer in equity, the North West zone, especially Zamfara, should be allowed to produce the Speaker for the 10th house of representatives.

“Since the advent of democracy in 1999, Zamfara has lagged behind in producing top representatives at the Federal level.

“Let me say it is perhaps the only state in the entire North-West that is yet to produce a top ranking government official,” he said.

He added that all eyes were on the All Progressives Party (APC) to unveil its zoning position for the presiding officers.

Adebayo urged the party to take into account, the significant role played by the North-West zone in APC’s victory at the presidential election.

Our correspondent recalled that Jaji was a former Chairman of House Committee on National Intelligence, Security and Public Safety.
