Rokeeb, whose residential address was not provided, is standing trial on a two-count charge of breach of peace and stealing preferred against him by the police.

The prosecutor, ASP Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on April 18, at about 7.00 a.m., at Ikotun, Lagos State.

According to him, the defendant stole a mini bus with registration no. EPE 892 YJ, valued at N2.9 million, belonging to the complainant, one Mr Ibrahim Nurudeen.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Miss K. A. Ariyo, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and one of them must be a blood relative of the defendant.
