Borno lawmaker empowers 360 women

Rep. Ahmed Jaha of Chibok/Damboa/Gwoza Federal Constituency of Borno has distributed 360 deep freezers to women engaged in petty businesses in his constituency.

Speaking at the ceremony in Maiduguri on Saturday, Jaha said 100 others received sewing machines and another 13 youths who are drivers got buses.

“There is also four Ambulance buses donated by the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Company (NDIC) through me given to Gwoza, Chibok, Damboa and Ngoshe hospitals,” he said.

Jaha said that the exercise, which was the 15th by him in the last four years, would continue when he resumed his second term tenure.

He lauded Gov. Babagana Zulum for transforming the state, adding that the governor’s performance gingered him to also enhance his performance.

Speaking at the event, Zulum commended the lawmaker for his empowerment programmes and urged the beneficiaries not to sale the items but use them to boost their businesses.

While reiterating his administration’s commitment to delivering more projects in Gwoza, Chibok and Damboa LGAs, Zulum thanked the people for his re-election.
