OAU students visit Ekiti Assembly, applaud robust legislation

The Political Science Students Association of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile lfe, has visited the Ekiti State House of Assembly with a view to having first hand information and knowledge as regards legislation.

The speaker of the Association, Mr Oluwatobi Faturoti, who led the students, commended lawmakers at the Assembly for robust legislation.

He explained that they were in the Assembly complex to familiarize themselves with the workings of the lawmakers and to observe the proceedings in parliament.

The Speaker of the State Assembly, Mrs Olubunmi Adelugba, in her response, thanked the students for the visit and described the Assembly as a peaceful and gender-friendly one.

Adelugba noted that the visit of the students would afford them the opportunity to know the Operations of the House through intellectual debates.

She advised the students to face their studies and be of good conduct to realize their dreams in life.

The Deputy Speaker, Mr Hakeem Jamiu, and other lawmakers in their remarks, said Ekiti state remained a woman-friendly state in term of Political appointments as they can be seen in different sectors.
