Abedorc To Host 4th JIFORM Summit In Canada
Abedorc Productions Inc, a Canadian based event and Media Company, the owners of Dorc Radio and Television stations will host the 4th Journalists International Forum For Migration (JIFORM) Global Migration Summit focusing on climate change and investment.
The summit according to a statement signed by the President of the JIFORM, Dr Ajibola Abayomi is to be held between October 2 and 14, this year. The annual event is targeted at promoting the course of regular migration and capacity building for journalists focusing on migration reportage and other stakeholders in addition to interval reviews of migration dynamics and development.
While the conference is themed Climate Change, Human Mobility And Sustainable Investments, renowned lecturers to be named a few weeks from now by the organizers would share knowledge and expertise on labour migration, human trafficking, slavery, gender, irregular migration and economic issues in the area of investments.
Within the time frame of the summit, participants shall be opportuned to explore the city of Toronto and its environs for tourist and social activities coupled with interactions with media professionals, migration advocates, institutions, government officials and several business interests.
Participants are expected from the media, business communities, migration agencies, judiciary and health workers, academics, professionals, community and religious leaders and government workers. The statement in parts however lauded Abedorc’s Chief Executive Officer, Prince Yinka Farinde, a leading Nigerian-Canadian musician and investor for facilitating the 2022 edition of the summit held in Toronto.

The 2022 summit led by former Secretary to Canada Government and one time Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Hon Gerry Weiner had participants from Germany, USA, Malaysia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Canada, Gambia, Nigeria, Benin Republic, France and other countries. JIFORM is a non-profit body comprising over 300 journalists and other volunteers across the continents covering migration matters.
Since 2019, the organization has become a major force organizing a series of local and international capacity building for journalists and other stakeholders. In 2021, it initiated the annual African Migration Summit held in Ghana in partnership with Nekotech Center of Excellence, Accra, the West African Media Migration Summit in Lome Togo and held its 3rd Global Migration Summit in Toronto, Canada in October 2022. The body in collaboration with the City University, New York City, US between November 2-4, in Brooklyn hosted an intercontinental migration summit.
