Man docked over alleged fraud of N3m

Bako Farouq was on Friday docked at the Akure Magistrates’ Court over alleged fraud of N3 million.

The Police prosecutor Insp Folasade Adeyemi, said that the defendant attempted to defraud Rafiu Idris of his bitcoin under false pretence.

Adeyemi told the court that she had three witnesses to testify against the defendant.

He asked the court to adjourn the case for her to carry out more investigation about the offence.

The defence counsel, Mr A.O Ajayi, who did said that he would not object to the application, asked for the defendant’s bail in the most liberal terms.

Ajayi said that the defendant was still presumed to be innocent and if granted bail, he would provide reliable sureties.

The Magistrate, Mrs Idowu Mayowa, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with one reliable surety.

Mayowa adjourned the case until June 9 for hearing.
