Ondo Govt. lauds health agency for winning $500,000
The Ondo State Government has commended its Primary Health Care Development Agency for winning the best leadership award, worth $500,000.
The Ondo Head of Service (HoS), Mr Kayode Ogundele, who visited the agency in Akure on Wednesday, commended the team for standing tall among states in Nigeria.
The HoS, accompanied by Mrs Dare Atunse, Permanent Secretary, Office of Establishment and Training, and Mr Femi Ayodele, Administrative Secretary, Service Matters Department, (Governor’s Office) said the state was noted for excellence.
He said that as public servants, their efforts should be geared towards getting the best always.
Ogundele said that workers should always take seriously whatever position they occupy, noting that the reward for hard-work would definitely come when least expected.
He said that the Ondo State Service Improvement Programme was a reform programme of Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration, aimed at making public servants deliver on their given assignment.
The Permanent Secretary of the agency, Dr Francis Akanbiemu, said the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Leadership Challenge Award was anchored by the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, the Federal Ministry of Health, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, UNICEF and other partners, who evaluated the performances of PHCs.
Akanbiemu, represented by the Director in the Planning, Research and Statistics Agency, Dr Yetunde Olagbuji, said the rating which was done independently attracted $500,000.
He assured the HoS that the management and other PHC staff in the state would continue to do the state proud.
