The Kano State chapter of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed grief at the news of the death of Sheikh Mohammad Nasir the Chief Imam of Fagge Central Mosque.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the forum, Alhaji Bello Galadanchi, on Thursday in Kano.

The state Chairman of the forum, Dr Goni Umar, lauded the positive contributions of the late cleric to Islamic propagation and the administration of justice in the state during his sojourn in the state judiciary, said the statement.

Umar recalled similar positive engagements when he and the decessed, among others, greatly sustained the Hausa Week at the then ABC/ABU Kano (now BUK), an annual event that attracted scholars, researchers and artistes from far and near.

The annual week event also impacted the position of the Language worldwide, he noted.

Umar prayed Allah to grant Nasir eternal rest and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
