Man, 26, remanded in prison for stealing property worth 790,000
A Badagry Magistrates’ Court Lagos, on Friday ordered the remand of a 26-year old man, Adewunmi Oluwasegun for pleading guilty to stealing property valued at N790,000.
The Chief Magistrate, Patrick Adekomaiya, remanded Oluwasegun after he pleaded guilty to a two-count charge bordering on felony and stealing.
Adekomaiya ordered that the defendant should be remanded in Awhajigoh Correctional Centre, Badagry.
The magistrate adjourned the case until June 14, for facts and sentencing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Ikem Uko, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 5, at about 7.30 p.m., at Cemetery Road, Badagry, Lagos.
Uko said that the defendant broke and entered the house of one Aluku Innocent, the complainant with the intent to commit felony.
He said Oluwasegun stole one table flower vase valued at N40,000, chairs valued at N350,000 and clothes valued at N400,000 belonging to the complainant.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
