Represented by the NPC Federal Commissioner in Kano, Dr Isma’I” Suleiman, the chairman said the aims of the interactive session with the media executives was to update them on the status of preparations for the census, and the next steps forward in the light of the postponement of the census.

He said the commission welcomed Federal Government’s decision of the postponement, which was aimed at giving the present administration the opportunity to further perfect the processes.

Kwarra added that the commission had carried out all preparatory activities, and making efforts to ensure the conduct of the population census achieved maximum success.

The NPC boss said “the process and systems put in place for the census are therefore being currently reviewed to determine what needs to be done to ensure the preparations do not become obsolete for the census.”

In his remark, the state Director of NPC, Kano office, Alhaji Ismaila Dogo, said the meeting would pave way for media executives to have a clear understanding of the status of the population census.
