Ikorodu LG boss mourns market leader, Allison

Mr Wasiu Adesina, Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, has described the death of Alhaja Taofikat Allison, Iyaloja of Ikorodu division,as shocking.

Our correspondent reports that Allison died on Monday at a private hospital, after a protracted illness.

In a condolence message to the family of the deceased and traders in the council area, Adesina described the deceased as a resourceful woman, who did her best to ensure effective management of markets in Ikorodu.

He said the late market leader, who was also the Yeye Oba of Ibeshe Land, was a mother and a role model, noting that she contributed greatly to the economic and political development of the area.

“Alhaja was hard working, vibrant, and industrious. She was a role model to women and traders in Ikorodu. She was an advocate of equity and justice.

“Her death is a huge loss to her family, market men and women and the local government area as a whole. Her legacies will not be forgotten in a hurry.

“Residents of Ikorodu will miss this quintessential and courageous woman”, he said.

Adesina prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and her family the fortitude to bear the loss.
