NYSC confirms abduction of a corps member in Borno

The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, has advised youth corps members on security and positive utilisation of social media.

He gave the advice when he paid a visit to the Gen. Yakubu Gowon NYSC orientation camp in Fanisau area of Dutse, Jigawa, on Tuesday.

He warned the youth corps members against unauthourised trips, saying such risky adventures could pose great danger to them.

The NYSC boss, who urged the youth corps members to use the social media for self and national development, encouraged them to actively participate in the scheme’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training.

He added that “these skills will promote self-reliance and wealth creation, as the white collar jobs are not readily available like in the past.”

He commended the Camp Management and members on the level of sanitation at the camp, describing it as “one of the best I have seen so far.”

Earlier, the NYSC Coordinator in Jigawa, Mrs A’ishatu Adamu, had commended the youth corps members for their level of discipline and participation in camp activities.

She described the Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation which started on July 14 as “the best in recent times.”

Adamu thanked the director-general for the visit to the camp, saying it is a source of motivation and inspiration to the camp community.

Our correspondent reports that the D-G inspected camp facilities and presented gifts to various groups of youth
corps members at the camp.
