Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), AVM Hassan Abubakar, has visited the two NAF pilots who successfully ejected from the crashed FT-7NI trainer aircraft on July 14, in Makurdi.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, in a statement on Tuesday, said the CAS visited the pilots at an Abuja Hospital.

Gabkwet said the pilots were flown to Abuja on the directive of the air chief for extra medical care and attention.

He said they were in stable condition and recuperating well after ejecting from the ill-fated aircraft.

Gasket said the CAS was accompanied by NAF Chief of Medical Services, AVM Anthony Ekpe.

According to him, Abubakar expressed delight on seeing the pilots in high spirit and looking forward to getting back on their feet and resuming work as soon as possible.

“Abubakar commended them for their courage and commitment to ongoing training efforts in view of NAF’s counter’insurgency and counter- terrorism commitments.

“He assured them of NAF’s readiness at providing them with the best medical care to ensure their quick recovery,” Gabkwet said.
