Ekiti NSCDC parades 12 suspects for various crimes

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti Command, has paraded 12 suspected criminals for conspiracy, cultism and illicit drug deals.

The State Commandant, Mr John Fayemi, paraded the suspects at the counter terrorism base in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.

The suspects are, Odidiomo Sunday, Male, 37; Kehinde Owodele, Male, 34; Idowu Owodele, Male 32; Aliu Jubril, Male, 31; Mohammed Fatai, Male 24; Kelvin Jeremiah, Male, 31; 17-year-old boy, name withheld; Suleiman Aliu, Male, 25; Ibrahim Mohammed, 20; Ojo Olakunle, Male, 26; Olaniyi Yinka, Male, 30; and Faleye Odunayo. Male 39.

Fayemi commended the efforts and tactics by the Counter Terrorism Unit to trace the syndicate from Ado-Ekiti to where they were arrested.

He said that he was amazed by the extent of illicit drug dealing as the supply of illicit substances came from some local governments where they were processed to the state capital.

The state commander, therefore, appealed to the traditional rulers to ensure that the forests were safe from marauders, kidnappers, armed robbers and other criminals.

He also said that the government would not fail in its quest to protect the people from man-made problems.

He said that the items recovered from the suspects include; three Bajaj motor bikes, substances suspected to be Cannabis sativa, Tramadol, raps of drugs, phones of various brands and charms.

The suspects will be charged to court as soon as preliminary investigations are concluded.
