Sokoto Gov. condoles with Kebbi counterpart, NPA MD over District Head’s demise

Gov. Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State, on Monday, condoled with his Kebbi counterpart, Dr Nasir Idris and Managing Director, Nigeria Port Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello-Koko, over the death of the District Head of Koko, Muhammadu Bello-Koko.

Our correspondent reports that the late district head was a father to the NPA managing director and APC House of Representatives candidate for Maiyama/Koko-Besse Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Shehu Muhammad-Bello.

Our correspondent also reports that Bello-Koko died on July 21 at a hospital in Abuja during a brief illness.

The governor, who prayed Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus, urged the family to accept the will of God in good faith.

Aliyu said: “I am here on behalf of myself, government and people of Sokoto State to convey our heartfelt condolences to the people of Kebbi.

“This is not a new thing to us; it has been a long tradition because Sokoto and Kebbi are one single entity and we will continue to keep this relationship between us.”

Responding, Gov. Nasir Idris expressed appreciation to his Sokoto counterpart for the visit and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

The governor, who described the condolence visit as a homecoming, assured that the relationship between the two states would be sustained in the overall interest of the citizens.
