Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina State has announced plans by his administration to establish 361 clinics to enhance quality healthcare service delivery in the state.

Radda stated this while inaugurating the distribution of 198 motorcycles to routine immunisation officers and ward focal persons.

He said the clinics would be established before the end of his tenure across the 34 local government areas of the state.

The plan, he said, was part of his commitment towards enhancing access to quality healthcare services at the grassroots.

He said the distribution of the motorcycles was aimed to enhancing immunisation coverage and other primary healthcare services in the state.

“I am fully committed to strengthening the health sector to meet the aspirations of the people of Katsina State.

“And also, we are dedicated to improving healthcare services for the citizens,” he said.

The governor enjoined community and religious leaders as well as other stakeholders to create awareness in their communities on the importance of healthcare intervention.

He also charged the immunisation officers and focal persons to ensure effective utilisation of the motorcycles in the discharge of their duties.

Earlier, Dr Ahmed Tijjani Hamza, Permanent Secretary, Katsina State Ministry of Health, lauded the governor for championing healthcare reform agenda, to enhance quality service delivery.

He said the programme would achieve its objectives with support of development partners.
