Galatasaray signs Moroccan midfielder Hakim Ziyech on loan from Chelsea
Galatasaray, the reigning champions of the Turkish Super League, has made a significant addition to their squad by signing Moroccan midfielder Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea.
The club announced this major move on Saturday, revealing that Ziyech’s transfer comes with an intriguing option for a potential permanent purchase.
The terms of the deal stipulate that Galatasaray will pay Ziyech 3.6 million euros for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. Furthermore, if the talented midfielder opts for a permanent move to the club, he stands to earn 2.9 million euros for the subsequent 2024-2025 season.
This acquisition aligns with Galatasaray’s ambition to strengthen their lineup as they bask in the glory of their record 23rd league title, secured in May. This triumph marked their first championship win since the 2018-2019 season, adding to the club’s storied legacy.
Galatasaray’s quest for enhanced prowess has also led them to acquire the talents of Mauro Icardi, previously with Paris St Germain, and Wilfried Zaha, who joined following the conclusion of his contract with Crystal Palace.
The Turkish Super League landscape is undergoing a transformation with these strategic moves, and the anticipation is building as Galatasaray positions itself for a vibrant future.
