In an electrifying proclamation, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has declared an unyielding commitment to shatter digital divides, ignite digital literacy, and ensure equitable access to technology that will touch the lives of every Nigerian, no matter where they reside.

At the heart of this transformative vision is the Director-General of NITDA, Mr. Kashifu Abdulahi, who, speaking with fervor and determination, unveiled this ambitious endeavor during a groundbreaking Stakeholders’ Engagement and Eco-System Development Programme held in Enugu.

Abdulahi, represented by the illustrious Mr. Babajide Ajayi, underscored the paramount importance of inclusivity in the journey toward digitalization. He proclaimed that true digital success hinges not solely on the achievements of a select few but on the advancement realized by all.

NITDA, as the harbinger of this digital revolution, is diligently crafting the National Digital Equality Strategy for Women (NDESW), a trailblazing initiative aimed at ensuring that women enjoy equitable access and opportunities in the digital realm, empowering them to partake fully in the digital economy. Additionally, the National Digital Skills Strategy (NDSS) is charting a strategic roadmap to foster digital literacy and talent development throughout Nigeria.

The concept of digitalization, as passionately described by Abdulahi, is a transformative force that integrates digital technology into every facet of society. It engenders monumental changes across industries and fuels waves of innovation, fundamentally altering the way we conduct business, manage our health, educate ourselves, and even govern.

The overarching theme of this momentous gathering, “Creating Opportunities, Breaking Boundaries Towards Digitalization and Entrepreneurial Evolution,” resonates as a clarion call to action. NITDA stands as a lighthouse, guiding the way by providing an enabling environment, a robust framework of support, and a collaborative platform that empowers all stakeholders to be architects of change.

Abdulahi emphatically conveyed that NITDA’s doors are wide open to partnerships that pave the path for a digitally empowered future. This gathering serves as a crucible where knowledge, experience, and expertise are distilled to co-create solutions, articulate strategies, and extend services to all stakeholders, particularly at the grassroots level.

Addressing the assembly, Abdulahi implored the stakeholders to seize the reins of leadership and become the architects of a future where opportunities abound, boundaries are obliterated, and every entrepreneur’s vision takes root and flourishes.

In a stirring keynote address, Gov. Peter Mbah unveiled Enugu State’s audacious vision to rank among Nigeria’s top three states, not only in trade, investment, and industry but as a formidable digital powerhouse. He applauded NITDA’s mission, which aligns seamlessly with the state’s vision, and recognized NITDA’s invaluable role as a catalyst in fostering a digital Nigeria.

Mbah, represented by the Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Industry, Mrs. Adaora Chukwu, extolled the state’s transformative initiatives, from spearheading e-governance reforms to empowering youth with essential tech skills. He underscored the commitment to fostering an environment where innovation thrives.

Dr. Micheal Edeh, State Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Enugu State Chapter, expressed profound appreciation for NITDA’s engagement with technology stakeholders. This event provided a vital platform for answering critical questions on policies and forging connectivity between stakeholders and NITDA officials, opening new vistas of possibilities in the digital landscape.

In a resounding symphony of digital promise, NITDA’s unwavering commitment to bridging divides and nurturing innovation heralds a new era of possibilities for Nigeria, where the digital future is a beacon of hope for all.
