Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: FRSC cautions motorists on speed
The Ogun Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has emphasised the need for motorists to obey speed limits to reduce crashes on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during the festive period.
Mr Anthony Uga, Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, made the appeal in an interview with our reporter on Tuesday, in Ota, Ogun.
Uga was reacting to two separate crashes where two people died on Monday and another two on Tuesday, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The sector commander said that the cause of the two road traffic crashes was speed-related.
“FRSC has been talking and educating motorists that they should drive according to stipulated speed limits.
“They should not take advantage of the fact that the road is okay and smooth to exceed speed limits,” he said.
Uga said that some motorists during the Yuletide brought out vehicles that were mechanically deficient.
The sector commander said that FRSC operatives were there to guide motorists, but some motorists were still falling short of the advice given.
He advised motorists to install speed devices in their vehicles to stem road crashes.
