Adeleke hails development partners, others for support to communities
Ademola Adeleke of Osun has commended the concerted efforts of development partners in the state in ensuring growth and development of some communities across the state.
Adeleke gave the commendation on the sideline of the 2023 Community Development Day Celebration at the Osogbo township stadium.
The event has its theme as” Taking Ownership of our Development”.
The governor, represented by his Deputy, Mr Kola Adewusi, said that community development bothered on empowerment that should be homegrown with active participation of stakeholders.
“When community members agree to take collective actions on issues that are important to their lives, then they are capable of using local resources to solve local challenges.
He said the present administration under his leadership had chosen to take community development with full responsibilities, adding that some communities were now better than what they were before.
“I am happy to say that this administration is reaching, touching and transforming communities just within the spate of one year in office.
“I want to charge all development partners to continue to support this government by seeing development as a collective responsibility in taking the state to its place of pride,” Adeleke said.
According to him, government appreciates the world Bank through the Task Team Leader (TTL), Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa, for his support to the state.
”I equally thank the National Coordinating unit of Nigeria CARES under the leadership of Dr Abdulkarim Obaje. God will continue to support them all.
Earlier, Mrs Funmi Abokede, the Managing Director, Osun State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), said the governor had been walking his talk by fulfilling all his promises made to the citizens of the state.
Abokede, who highlighted some achievements of the present administration under Adeleke, commended the governor for taking concrete actions to respond to the yearnings of the vulnerable in the state.
She praised the governor for showing interest in improving the quality of life of the citizens through infrastructure development as one of his developmental agenda.
The Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Mr Ganiyu Ola-Oluwa, said that the governor had greatly reduced the hardship of citizens in the state.
Ola-Oluwa added that the present administration had embarked on projects that could have positive impacts on lives of citizens in the state.
He commended the Osun CSDA for its strives in communities across the state with evidence to showcase.
