Ibadan explosion: PDP governors urge security agencies to prevent reoccurrence
The PDP Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) has urged security agencies, mining and explosives regulatory authorities to step up action to prevent reoccurrence of Tuesday’s explosion that rocked Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
The Chairman of the forum, Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Made the call in a statement by its Director-General, C.I.D. Maduabum in Abuja on Friday.
Mohammed sympathised with Gov. Oluseyi Makinde and people of Oyo for the loss of lives and property, resulting from the explosion.
He said the forum was saddened by the painful loss, impacting not only the government and the people of Oyo but also the entire country.
“Our heartfelt condolences go to the families of victims who lost their beloved ones, and we pray that all who sustained various levels of injuries will have a speedy recovery,” he said.
Mohammed commended Makinde’s swift response to the incident and expressed confidence that the governor would deliver on his promise to bring justice to victims by ensuring all parties indicted in the investigation were brought to book.
He said that Makinde’s actions so far, especially in ensuring that those in need of medical attention received it at no cost, demonstrated the governor’s love and resolute interest in the welfare and well-being of the entire people of Oyo.
Mohammed assured the government and people of Oyo of the forum’s unwavering support.
