Police arrest man for alleged possession of fake naira notes

Operatives of the Police Command in Lagos State have arrested a 47-year-old man, Shola Owosho, for allegedly in possession of counterfeit naira notes.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement in Lagos on Friday.

Hundeyin said that the suspect was arrested for unlawful possession of N13, 000 fake currency.

“The suspect has been arrested by officers of Ijora Badia Division in possession of fake N1, 000 notes totaling N13, 000.

The spokesman said that the suspect has been identified by a victim of his crime.

According to him, investigation is ongoing.
