UNIBEN VC hails appointment of alumnus as president, Nigeria’s PG medical college

The Vice Chancellor (VC) of University of Benin, Prof. Lilian Salami, has applauded the appointment of an alumnus of the institution, Prof. Peter Ndidi Ebeigbe, as the 23rd President of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.

Salami via a statement issued by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Dr Benedicta Ehanire, extolled Ebeigbe for his unique qualities of hardwork, tenacity, excellency of spirit and diligence, which propelled him to shine and to bring honours to his alma mater.

It was reported that Ebeigbe, who graduated from the School of Medicine, UNIBEN in 1994, is the first UNIBEN alumnus to occupy the exalted seat in the over 50 years history of the Postgraduate College.

Salami wished the 23rd president, whose investiture holds on March 1, in Lagos, robust health and strength to excel in his latest assignment.

Ebeigbe, a professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Delta State University, Abraka, in Delta, is also a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons.
