Emir of Ilorin condemns killing of Oba Aremu-Cole of Koro-Ekiti
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has condemned the gruesome murder of the Olukoro of Koro-Ekiti in Kwara, Oba Segun Aremu – Cole by some gunmen on Thursday evening at his Palace.
Our correspondent recalls that gunmen, on Thursday evening, invaded Koro town in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara, killing the traditional ruler, Aremu-Cole.
The Emir made the condemnation in a statement by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, on Friday in Ilorin.
Sulu-Gambari, also the Chairman Kwara Traditional Rulers Council, frowned at the abduction of Olukoro of Koro-Ekiti’s wife and two others.
He appealed to security agencies to intensify effort toward the protection of lives and property in the state.
The Emir expressed condolences to the entire members of the State Traditional Rulers Council and the people of Koro community, as well as indigenes of Ekiti Local Government Area, over the sad incidence.
He urged Kwara government to ensure that necessary support to security agencies to enable them curb the incessant crimes and criminality across the state.
The Emir urged religious leaders across the state to embark on special prayers, to restore peace and harmony that Kwara was known for globally.
