By-election in Ondo: APC candidate applauds INEC for conducting peaceful election
Oyin Akoko (Ondo State) The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Akoko North-East and Akoko North-West Federal constituency by-election, Mr Ifeoluwa Ehindero, has applauded the conduct of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking to newsmen after casting his vote at Ward 4, Polling Unit 2, Oyin Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government Area, Ehindero also applauded security agencies for professionalism, describing the election as peaceful.
“The report we are hearing is that the whole process is peaceful and all have been professional and being of good conduct so far.
“The voter turnout has been averagely good and we hope it will improve before the end of the exercise,” he said.
The APC candidate said he was optimistic that he would emerge victorious at the end of the exercise.
Also speaking, Dr Tunji Abayomi, a chieftain of the APC, said that the voting had been peaceful and with no reported hitches.
Abayomi, who voted at Unit 7, Ward 3, Oke Agbo in Akoko North-West Local Government Area, stated that early morning chill might have affected voter turnout.
He expressed optimism that more voters would turout to cast their votes before the close of the exercise by 2:00p.m.
In his remarks Mr Muyiwa Asagunla, the Chairman, APC Campaign Council in the constituency, said that INEC officials had been up and doing.
Asagunla, who cast his vote at Unit 7, Ward 3, Oke Agbo in Akoko North-West Local Government Area, said that he was impressed with the conduct of the election and voter turnout.
