The South-South Zonal Working Committee (ZWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed sadness at the death of Dr Cairo Ojougboh.
Ojougboh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and a former House of Representatives member from Delta, was said to have slumped and died on Wednesday while watching AFCON semi-finals between Nigeria and South Africa.
In a statement on Friday in Abuja by Chief Dan Orbih, PDP National Vice Chairman, South-South Zone, the ZWC also commiserated with the family of Ojougboh, the Ika Federal Constituency and the entire Delta people.
According to Orbih, the sudden death of Ojougboh is painful.
“The entire members of the South-South ZWC of the PDP are deeply pained over this sad incident, which has thrown the people of Ika Federal Constituency and, indeed, the people of Delta State into a mournful mood.
“Dr Cairo Ojougboh will be remembered for his role in nation building and his exceptional leadership qualities, especially during his tenure as Chairman of the PDP South-South Zone.
“While we commiserate with members of his beloved family, the People of Ika Federal Constituency and the entire Delta people, we urge that they take solace in the fact that he made a positive impact.
He prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
