Man, 45, remanded for allegedly defiling minor
An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 45-year-old man, Shola Adewale at the Kirikiri custodial facility for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl.
Chief Magistrate, E. Kubeinje ordered that Adewale be kept at the facility pending advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions.
The court did not take the plea of Adewale.
Kubeinje, however, adjourned the case until Feb. 27, for mention.
The Prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, had told the court that the defendant on three occasions at No. 27 Anuoluwapo Street, Isheri, Lagos, defiled the little girl.
Ajayi alleged that the defendant sexually assaulted the minor by penetrating her vagina with his finger.
The alleged offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Our correspondent reports that the defendant is liable to life imprisonment if found guilty of the offence.
