Ondo PDP chairman dies, party mourns
The Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Mr Fatai Adams is dead.
Mr Ikantu Peretei, Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, confirmed the chairman`s death in a statement in issued in Akure on Wednesday.
Peretei said Adams died on Wednesday at a private hospital in Akure, after a brief illness.
”The Peoples Democratic Party (Ondo chapter) wishes to express our shock and devastation over the demise of Hon. Fatai Adams, whose death occurred this morning at a private hospital in Akure after a brief illness.
“His transition at this trying time of the party is not only sad but traumatic. The State Working Committee (SWC) of the party has declared a three-day mourning period.
“Party flags are to fly at half mast and all party secretariat shut for the period across the state.
“Our party commiserates with his family and the Ondo State PDP at large. May Almighty Allah grant him Al jannah Firdaus,” he said.
It was reported that Adams was elected State Chairman of the PDP on Aug. 2020.
Before then, he had served as deputy state chairman of the party in the state.
