NCoS, Police to strengthen partnership in securing Custodial Centers
The FCT Controller of Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Mr John Francis, has sought for stronger partnership with the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) to improve security of Custodial Centres in the territory.
Francis said when he paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner of Police, FCT, Mr Bennet Igweh on Wednesday in Abuja, that the worrisome insecurity in the territory required coordinated approach to contain.
“I am here to seek actionable ways to improve and fortify the safety and security of FCT,” he said.
The controller commended the Police for its support in securing Kuje Custodial Centre but said the two organisations should do more to secure the centre and the society in general.
In his response, the commissioner of police, appreciated the controller for the visit, saying enhancing collaboration between them would be healthy for both organisations as they strive to ensure security of the FCT.
Igweh said that he was passionate about the Correctional Service because he had worked with the service in various joint operations.
“As a crime fighter, my life and other citizens who have fought crime would not be safe if the custodial centres are not secured,” he added.
Igweh therefore pledged to work with the NCoS to enhance security in the territory.
