ITF holds stakeholders forum, unveils 2024 brochure
The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) on Thursday held its consultancy Stakeholders Engagement Forum and unveiled the 2024 consultancy services brochure.
Dr Afiz Ogun, the Director – General (D-G) of the ITF, said this in Jos while declaring open the forum with the theme “Repositioning ITF Consultancy Services for High Impact,” opened.
Ogun, said the consultancy department of the fund was a division under Standardization and Certification created in 2020.
The D-G, said it was created after a restructuring exercise, to enable the ITF fulfil its mandate in line with the fund’s reviewed Act of 2011.
According to him, the department asides the role it played in the fund as regards the supervision of all consultancy services in the fund’s area offices also offered services to stakeholders outside the fund.
The D-G, said the consultancy services offered to various stakeholders were conduction of needs assessment or processes in organisations to identify performance needs, on the job training, skills acquisition trainings.
The other services he mentioned were. Management retreat, employee capacity building, development of programmes, employee promotion and assessment and special intervention programmes.
He further said that the fund offered value added services and helped in the identification and bridging of skill gaps.
Ogun, said the theme for the engagement forum, was appropriate to enable stakeholders remain proactive to the evolving technologies, work environment landscapes in all fields.
He called for a more robust synergy with its stakeholders, especially with the Plateau government.
Mrs Josephine Piyo, Plateau’s Deputy Governor, commended the ITF for its commitment to the development of human resource in the public sector.
Piyo, however, called for the leverage expertise and resources of both the public and private sectors to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency in capacity development initiatives.
She said the state government was ready to partner with the ITF .
“I am particularly excited about the opportunity to explore the service offerings of ITF Consultancy Services and identify areas of mutual interest and collaboration.
“By working together, we can unlock new opportunities, overcome challenges, and chart a course toward a brighter and more prosperous future for Plateau State.,” she said.
She urged the D-G of the fund to endeavor to discharge Corporate Social Responsibility to its host community.
