Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim-Alkali, a former member representing Lafia North constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has constructed the Feferuwa bridge linking about 30 communities in Lafia and Wamba Local Government Areas of the state.

Speaking at the inauguration of the bridge on Tuesday in Feferuwa, Arikya Ward of Lafia LGA, Alkali said that the construction of the bridge gulped the sum of N15 million.

According to Alkali, the decision to construct the bridge is borne out the desire to reduce the suffering of the people in transporting their farm produce to the market.

He noted that aside boosting agricultural production in the area, the bridge would also enhance socio-economic activities that would improve the general livelihood of the people.

“This bridge is very strategic as it links about 30 communities such as Adogi to Akura to Feferuwa to Angwan Zaria to Arugbadu Gona to Arikiya among other communities and Wamba Local Government Area,” he said.

Alkali assured of his continued commitment to provide infrastructure, jobs and empowerment to the people of Lafia North constituency despite being out of the Assembly.

”I will continue to impact positively on the lives of the people of Lafia North constituency and others,” he said.

He urged the people of the area to continue to pray and support him as well as the government of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

The former lawmaker also urged the people of the area to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.

In his remarks, Alh. Aliyu Bello, the State APC Chairman, appreciated Alkali for constructing the bridge, which he described as a critical asset.

Bello, represented by the state APC Youth Leader, Mr Mohammed Lafia, pointed out that Alkali had written his name in gold in the heart of his constituents and others in the state with the gesture.

He urged the people not to relent in reciprocating the gesture in future given the pedigree and capacity of Alkali.

Also speaking, Mr Aminu Muazu Maifata, the Chairman, Lafia Local Government Area, represented by Mr Yohanna Attah, Speaker, Lafia Legislative Council, appreciated the lawmaker for constructing the bridge to boost the socio-economic activities of the people of the affected communities.

On their parts, Alh. Abbas Usman Buba, Sarkin Arikiya, Alhaji Kasimu Abubakar, the District Head of Feferuwa and Magajiya Feferuwa, Mrs Fatima Isa, as well as Mr Yakubu Mohammed, Feferuwa Youth Leader, all showered encomiums on Alkali for constructing the bridge among other projects in the area.

They prayed God to bless Alkali abundantly.
