Prince Adedoyin donates ICT building to LASU
A philanthropist and renowned industrialist, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, has donated an Information and Communication Technology building to Lagos State University (LASU).
Adedoyin, Chief Executive Officer of Doyin Investment Ltd., handed over the building to the university’s management on Monday at his office on Victoria Island, Lagos.
He said that his aim was to give back to the society in appreciation of what God had done in his life.
“There was a time I was talking to God about what I wanted from him. At the time, all I wanted was just a Volkswagen and a bungalow.
“God did many more for me and made me who I am today.
“I felt that I should appreciate God for all He has done, by giving to the university,” Adedoyin said.
Expressing gratitude, the Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, lauded the philanthropist for the donation.
She said that provision of the ICT building would enhance ICT services of the university.
“We thank you and pray that God will continue to bless you, sir.
“The investment guru will be conferred with an honorary degree alongside other eminent Nigerians during the university’s 27th convocation which holds from May 30 to June 6,” she said.
Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin, Director, Directorate of LASU ICT, said that the institution had gone digital in its services and had embraced hybrid teaching.
Enikuomehin, who said that the donation was timely, gave the assurance that the facility would be put to optimal use.
