The police on Thursday arraigned a suspected fraudster, Ezekiel Olukoyi, 39, before a Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card.

Olukoyi, without a disclosed address, faces a one-count theft charge, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on June 6 at about 2.00 p.m., at Access Bank, Agbeni branch, Ibadan.

Amusan said the defendant stole the Access Bank ATM card of one Fatimo Ojo and withdrew the sum of N40,000 from her account.

According to him, the offence, contravening Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000, is punishable under the same section.

However, the court president, Mrs Sukurat Yusuf, granted the defendant bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She, subsequently, adjourned the case until Aug. 21 for hearing.
