Doguwa passes vote of confidence on APC leadership

Rep. Alhassan Doguwa (APC- Kano state) has passed vote of confidence on the government and leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national and state levels.

In a statement on Tuesday, Doguwa who is the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum (Upstream), reaffirmed his commitment to the party, describing it as the largest political party in Africa.

Doguwa who is the Chairman, Northern Regional Caucus of the 10th House of Representatives, said that he cannot be intimidated and that he has nothing to hide.

Doguwa dared his fellow lawmaker, Rep. Abdulmumin Jibrin (NNPP-Kano state) to carry out his threat to “drop a bombshell” that will lead to his expulsion from the APC.

Jibrin’s threat followed the ongoing disagreement and verbal exchanges between Doguwa and Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the NNPC in the 2023 election.

“I believe and have confidence in the leadership of our party. I admire and believe in the governmental policies and programmes of our party.

“I am not a coward politician and cannot be intimidated or blackmailed by sweeping accusations or phantom threats,” he said.

The legislator said that he had won four consecutive elections to represent Doguwa/Tundun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano state in the green chambers.

Doguwa said that he ensured victory for the party in his LGA in the 2023 Presidential elections and also delivered the two seats at the Kano State House of Assembly to the APC.

The lawmaker said that h remains a bonafide, committed and founding member of the APC, the largest political party in Africa.

It could be recalled that, following the emergence of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) ahead of the 2023 general election, Kano state was at the centre of attraction.
