The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has assured the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in Kogi State of the timely completion of 132/33KV transmission station located at Okebukun near Kabba.

The minister gave the assurance when Rep. Salman Idris, the member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in Kogi, visited him in his office in Abuja on Monday.

It was reported that the Okebukun transmission station, which commenced in 2014, has critical equipment with over 80 per cent completion, but work has been stalled.

Idris emphasised the importance of completing the project, highlighting its potential to radiate six feeders to feed three local government areas, namely Kabba-Bunu, Ijumu, and Mopa-Amuro in Kogi West senatorial district.

He said that the non-completion had undoubtedly grounded economic activities, considering the importance of power to our livelihood.

Idris, however, said that the completion of the Okebukun transmission station would undoubtedly boost economic activities in the area, providing power to homes and businesses.

He said that the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency eagerly await the project’s completion, which would have a significant impact on their livelihoods.

Responding, the minister assured the House members that activities would soon resume at the site, leading to the completion of the project.

He said that its completion would bring hope to the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, who have been waiting for its completion for years.
