NYSC lauds Katsina govt. for accepting corps members
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has lauded the Katsina State Government for always accepting corps members, especially those posted to public schools.
The NYSC Coordinator in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Sa’idu, gave the commendation in Katsina on Tuesday, while reacting to a newspaper report about non-acceptance of corps members by the state.
Sa’idu said that one of the newspapers published a story online, with the caption “NYSC decries poor accommodation, non-acceptance of corps members by Katsina public Schools”.
According to him, public schools in the state accept corps members posted to them by the NYSC without complaints or hesitation.
He said that the only problem the corps members had was lack of adequate accommodation and the payment of state allowances.
He said that the Katsina government had promised to start paying the allowance soon.
He revealed that the government had also promised to start massive renovation of lodges for corps members in all the local government areas in the state.
According to Sa’idu, the scheme is in discussion with the state government for the provision of these essential amenities for corps members deployed to the state.
