Teenager docked for allegedly stealing church’s musical instruments worth N655,000
A 19-year-old man, Clement Vincent, was on Tuesday arraigned before a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing some musical instruments belonging to a church, worth N655,000.
Vincent is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and damage, to which he, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences with two other persons still at large on Oct. 4 at Narayi area of Kaduna.
Leo said that the defendant broke into King of Glory Ministry Church and stole a keyboard, a bass guitar, an amplifier and two mixers, worth N655,000.
He said that the defendant also damaged two windows, two burglar proofs and the ceiling of the church.
Leo said that the defendant was caught by the security guard and handed over to the police.
He said that the offences contravened the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
The Magistrate, Mr Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Emmanuel said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and show evidence of tax payment to Kaduna State Government.
He, thereafter, adjourned the case till Nov. 9 for mention.
