Nigerian music superstar Davido has disclosed that he cast his first vote as citizen of the United States in the 2024 elections.

The elated singer made this known on his X page (formerly twitter), with a photo displaying his voter card bearing the state of Georgia on Tuesday.

He wrote: “First time voter.”

Davido, born David Adeleke in Atlanta, Georgia, holds dual citizenship, which allows him to vote in the United States.

Although the singer did not disclose the candidate that received his vote, his announcement generated mixed reactions on social media from his fans.

@jidifeanyi expressed disappointment, with a post “has he voted in Nigeria before? He campaigns in Osun but haven’t seen him exercise his electoral franchise in Nigeria.”

@nickirich14 joked, asked: “and I hope you voted for Kamala Davido”

@ix_wilson questioned his decision on his vote choice, wondering if Davido cast his vote for Trump, saying “Hope you vote for Trump”?

@_callmebekky posted “I hope you will be proud to do this in Nigeria.
