NYSC tasks corps members to impactful community dev’t projects
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has urged corps members to make positive contributions to their host communities through impactful community development projects.
Its Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Yushau Ahmed, stated this during the closing of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation Course, at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Represented by Rifkatu Yakubu, the NYSC Coordinator in the state, Ahmed enjoyed corps members to obey rules in the host communities as well as appreciate their culture and customs.
He commended the corps members for their patriotism, loyalty, patience, perseverance, understanding and good conduct during the three-week exercise.
“I am convinced that our three-week stay on camp has not been in vain and that you will impact maximally on your host communities during the service year,” he said.
The NYSC helmsman advised the corps members to report promptly to their places of primary assignments and adapt to the ways of life.
“The people of Bauchi state are hospitable people. The glaring proof as you can see are the buses sent by local councils to convey you to your places of primary assignments.
“I implore you to reciprocate this good gesture by contributing your best to the upliftment of your host communities and Bauchi State in general,” he said.
While commending the state government for its support to the scheme, Ahmed said that 1,100 corps members completed the three-week orientation course.
