Sanwo-Olu reiterates commitment to build more infrastructure
Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment towards the delivery of quality infrastructure to improve lives of residents.
The governor gave the reassurance at the inauguration of five strategic networks of roads at Ikeja Government Residential Area.
The road networks include Oba Dosunmu Street, Oduduwa Way, Oduduwa Crescent, Sobo Arobiodu and Sasegbon Street, all measuring 6.13 kilometers.
Sanwo-Olu said that the networks of roads would bring about socio-economic growth and development, promising that no area would be left behind in the state government’s urban regeneration bid.
“As a responsive government, we remain committed to reducing travel time which automatically translates into socio-economic development.
“Dr Muiz Banire wrote me a 17-page speech, I read through, there were accolades and critical things we still need to look into.
“This is a testament to the fact that as leaders we remain committed. Today, we signed into law the 2025 appropriation bill of N3.66 trillion which will drive our 2025 Budget of Sustainability.
“Residents of Ikeja, this is your property, it shouldn’t be vandalised, report any suspicious behaviour around to the appropriate authorities,” Sanwo-Olu said.
A former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, commended Sanwo-Olu for his administration’s developmental strides in the state and good governance, urging him to do more for the benefit of all.
“This project should have been inaugurated in the night, so you can see the beauty of what you have done in the state capital. Well done, Gov. Sanwo-Olu, you’re who you say you are,” he said.
Similarly, Mr Olufemi Daramola, the Special Adviser to the governor on Infrastructure, said the projects were in commitment to the government’s urban regeneration intervention policy.
He said that the government policy aimed at rehabilitating and upgrading key roads in the state.
“In line with the THEMES Plus Agenda, our ministry as foot soldiers, will continue to build infrastructure across the state. I will like to thank and appreciate Mr Sellable, our able governor, the deputy governor and my predecessor,” he said.
It was reported that the governor is also expected to inaugurate 4.7 kilometres of arterial roads along the Akoka, Bariga, and Gbagada axis on Jan. 10.
