Gov. Hyacinth Alia has approved the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Adamu as Chairman, Benue State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

The appointment was announced in a statement signed by Mr Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Makurdi.

According to the statement, the appointment takes immediate effect.

The governor believed that given his experience and proven track record, Adamu would be able to properly and diligently steer the affairs of Muslim pilgrims at all times.

He emphasised the importance of upholding the ideals of his administration and urged him to prioritise the interests of Benue in all his official engagements.

The governor urged the new chairman of the board to familiarise himself with the vision and mission of the administration, as outlined in the blueprint entitled “A Strategic Plan for a Greater Benue,” which would serve as a guide.
