Eno urges Seplat Energy on people oriented services in Akwa Ibom

Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has urged the management of Seplat Energy to engage in execution of projects that are people oriented and bring development to state.
Eno said this when Seplat Energy Group on Wednesday paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Uyo.
The governor assured that the state would support the Seplat Group in its vision and strategy to remain Nigeria’s leading independent energy provider.
He said the state government under his leadership, is people-oriented and would support initiatives that will benefit the people of Akwa Ibom.
Eno said the state has the enabling environment as well as good accommodations that was up to international standard, such as the Udom Emmanuel Towers.
He called on the oil company to consider acquiring spaces in the state to enhance its operations.
The governor said the state has an employment portal which contains details of unemployed youths, and urged Seplat executives to visit the site and harvest the needed man power whenever the need arises.
He expressed optimism that, given the calibre of men in the management of Seplat Energy Group led by Sen. Udoma Udo Udoma, the company will soar.
Earlier, Udoma, the Board Chairman of Seplat, said the visit was to formally inform the governor that the company has acquired the entire share capital of ExxonMobil.
Udoma said the Group is aware that Mobil Producing operations has significant activities in Akwa Ibom.
He said that the visit was to seek support and cooperation in ensuring a seamless transition from ExxonMobil to Seplat Energy Plc.
The board chairman said Seplat operations would be focused on ensuring safe operations, reopening shut-in wells, increasing production, embarking on an extensive drilling campaign and unlocking the enormous gas reserves in these fields.
He said the Group would build a strong and mutually-beneficial relationship with Akwa Ibom Government and the communities within which they operate.
