The Advocate for African Development Foundation (AADF) has called on Borno political stakeholders to work towards electing a credible governor to succeed Gov. Babagana Zulum.

Mr Aaron Odey, the group’s National Coordinator, made the call at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, stressing the need to ensure the right person is elected as the state’s next governor.

Odey warned that it would be disastrous for the state if someone without the necessary experience were to succeed the incumbent, a highly regarded professor who had delivered substantial progress in the state.

He urged political stakeholders to support the candidacy of Dr Muhammed Dikwa, a technocrat and former Accountant General of the Federation, as a capable successor to Zulum.

Describing Dikwa as a seasoned technocrat with vast experience in human capacity and community development, Odey highlighted his numerous contributions, including building a private university in Maiduguri through his Al-Ansar Foundation.

He also noted that Dikwa had awarded national and international scholarships to many indigent students and created over 20,000 security jobs through Al-Ansar Security Guards.

“He has created security jobs for over twenty thousand Nigerians through Al-Ansar Security Guards.

“Some of these private security personnel have already been deployed to provide security for lives and properties in Niger, Adamawa, Bauchi, Taraba, Borno, Yobe, Lagos, Kano, and Gombe states.

“Al-Ansar Foundation, which he established, has also made significant contributions, including the construction of schools in Abuja, Suleja (Niger), Kaduna, Kano, Yobe, and Borno states.

“Additionally, the foundation has distributed thousands of bags of rice, grains, and other food items as palliatives, particularly benefiting Borno indigenes,” he saidTop of Form.
