Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved 100 hectares of land for the expansion of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil.

This is contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, in Kano on Sunday.

The allocated land will accommodate a new Faculty of Engineering and a Senate Building, demonstrating the governor’s commitment to education and development in Kano State.

The governor assured the university community of his administration’s commitment to completing stalled projects and revitalising the institution.

He emphasised that education is the foundation of sustainable development and pledged to continue investing in the sector.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai, briefed the governor on the status of abandoned projects during the visit.

He also appealed to the governor to settle compensation claims for neighbouring residents to facilitate a smooth expansion process.

The university, originally established by Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, aims to produce skilled manpower in Science, Technology, and Engineering to support growth.
