Lalong urges Christian pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Nigeria

Sen. Simon Lalong, has urged Christian pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Nigeria and Plateau while in the holy land.

Lalong who is the leader of the seventh batch of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) 2024 main pilgrimage, made the call on Sunday in Abuja.

Celestine Toruka,Deputy Director and Head , Media and Public Relations of NCPC in a statement, said Lalong spoke during the airlift of the 7th batch of intending Christian pilgrims to Israel and Jordan.

He reminded the pilgrims to pray for President Bola Tinubu, the less privileged, and the government that sponsored their pilgrimage.

“A lot of things happen when you pray for Nigeria, your state, and yourself,” he said.

He urged them to stay away from any act capable of tarnishing the name of Nigeria and Plateau.

Lalong also emphasised the importance of praying for leaders in Nigeria.

He urged them to pray for unity and God’s grace to overcome temptations.

The former governor of Plateau urged the pilgrims to pray for permanent peace in Israel, the Middle East, and the entire world.

Also speaking, Dr Simon Dolly, Federal Commissioner representing North Central on the Board of the Commission, reaffirmed the commission’s zero-tolerance for abscondment.

Dolly urged the pilgrims to cooperate with each other while in the holy land and to pray for the leaders in government.

Rev. Wanson Bagu, the Executive Secretary of the Plateau Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, reminded the pilgrims that they are ambassadors of Christ, Nigeria, and Plateau.

Bagu urged them to maintain a good reputation while in the holy land.
