2 docked for alleged land encroachment in Ibadan

Two persons, Mosadoluwa Ojo, 42, and Cicilia Adeola, 54, were on Tuesday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly encroaching on a piece of land in Oluyole area of Ibadan.

The duo, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy, forcible entry and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace, to which they pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Kemi Oladapo told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offences sometimes in November, 2024, at Oluyole Local Government.

She alleged that the defendants forcibly encroached on a piece of land belonging to one Lukman Abass and prevented him from entering the land further.

She said they conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace.

Oladapo added that the defendants committed offences contrary to Sections 516, 81 and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs M. Atanda granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until April 14, for hearing.
